just got back from binongko island to visit a friend who's worked there as a dentist. it's quite isolating. electricity lights only 12 hours a day, from 6 pm till 6 am. there's no signal for cellular phone. and the main road is not in a good condition.
started my journey from baubau, buton island with boat. the captain said it would take 20 hours to cross the strait and also flores sea to be arrived at binongko. the boat sailed with only about 15 passengers and it looked like they've known each other :)
here is the kitchen. they serve milk or tea and cracker every morning and afternoon. very british, isn't it?

when the night had come, this lamp was the only light you could see inside the boat. but if you came outside on the ship's bridge you could see a beautiful view. million starlights above and million jellyfishes with their phosphor light below.
In fact it was only 16 hours journey because that day the sea was calm. what a beautiful island with its silent beach.
